Most newborn sleepers do not actually fit newborns.
Newborn sizing is inconsistent - and those first days are hard enough.
- They are too long and baggy on small newborn bodies.
- Feet and legs slip up when baby kicks
- Parents end up guessing NB vs 0–3 and hoping for the best
- Designed for real newborn proportions
- Secure fit that stays put (even with kicking legs and newborn scrunch)
- Simple sizing path: start with NB to cover the first weeks

The details that make the fit.
Every detail is designed to stay put, feel soft, and fit like a newborn sleeper should.
What size should I buy?
Use baby weight and height as your guide. If your baby isn't born yet, start with 2 newborn and a 0-3M size. If your baby is over 10 lbs and 22" at birth, get your money back.
Why I made Baby's First Sleeper.
I designed Pip because nothing I bought for my first son truly fit a newborn (he was a big baby and everything was still either too long, or too short and baggy, or had short arms, etc. etc.).
Those first days are hard enough - what your baby is wearing should feel like one less thing to worry about.
We designed ours to fit real newborn proportions, stay put when baby scrunches, and feel soft on fresh skin.
Start with Baby's First Sleeper.
If you are building your newborn wardrobe, this is the easiest place to start. Our recommended starter set covers off your first couple of months of postpartum haze by removing the guesswork.
